Afgelopen weekend werd het NK junioren verreden op ijsbaan De Meent in Alkmaar. Een semi overkapte baan vergelijkbaar met de Uithof. De DKIJV werd daar vertegenwoordigd door Veerle van Koppen op de 3000m en Jelle Rieff bij de sprinters.
De wedstrijden op de Uithof stonden voornamelijk in het teken van het ZHK. Onze club werd op het ZHK vertegenwoordigd
door Giel Hermans, Hidde Bart en Hugo Uijlenbroek.
Verder zijn er afgelopen weekend weer twee clubrecords gesneuveld.
NK junioren 14 en 15 december 2019 – De meent Alkmaar
Veerle mist op 0,34 seconden het podium. Vierde worden in een veld van Nederlands twintig snelste dames is natuurlijk wel iets waar je heel trots op mag zijn!

Op dag twee viel alles goed op zijn plaats voor Jelle. Met een zesde plek in de eindrangschikking en twee persoonlijke records zet hij op dag twee een knappe prestatie neer. Alkmaar staat niet bekend als een snelle baan, mede daarom zijn deze twee persoonlijke records van uitzonderlijke klasse.
